Ultrasonic guided wave estimation of minimum remaining wall thickness using Gaussian process regression

چکیده
Ultrasonic Guided Waves (UGW) offer the possibility of inspecting a strip across structure rather than just point under traditional bulk wave transducer. This can increase rate inspection and enable obstructions. paper investigates instantaneous phase characteristics shear horizontal guided waves for various defect depths widths. The Gaussian process regression is then evaluated estimating minimum remaining wall thickness between pair transducers. A model built using fusion large-scale simulated low-scale real experimental data. For this purpose, more precise an electromagnetic acoustic transducer initially by integrating both elastic fields. Then data set after having been calibrated genetic algorithm. examination unseen evaluation shows that 96 % has error during gauging less 10 per cent thickness. Finally, testing containing three different defects with 3.7, 5.7 9.2 mm was examined, resulting in good depth prediction large 1 wider one wavelength.

Estimation of Clustering Parameters Using Gaussian Process Regression
We propose a method for estimating the clustering parameters in a Neyman-Scott Poisson process using Gaussian process regression. It is assumed that the underlying process has been observed within a number of quadrats, and from this sparse information the distribution is modelled as a Gaussian process. The clustering parameters are then estimated numerically by fitting to the covariance structu...
متن کاملOnline recursive estimation of remaining life using ultrasonic measurements
This article addresses diagnosis and prognosis of evolving fatigue crack damage in polycrystalline alloy structures. It presents a statistically inspired recursive method for in situ estimation of the remaining useful life in machinery components, based on real-time measurements. The underlying algorithm is built upon (a) symbolic dynamic filtering of (online) ultrasonic sensor data and (b) Kar...
متن کاملAn Estimation of Wave Attenuation Factor in Ultrasonic Assisted Gravity Drainage Process
It has been proved that ultrasonic energy can considerably increase the amount of oil recovery in an immiscible displacement process. Although many studies have been performed on investigating the roles of ultrasonic waves, based on the best of our knowledge, little attention has been paid to evaluate wave attenuation parameter, which is an important parameter in the determination of the energy...
متن کاملProcess Monitoring Using Optical Ultrasonic Wave Detection
Certain microstructural features of materials, such as grain size in metals, porosity in ceramics, and structural phase compositions, are important for determining mechanical properties. Many of these microstructural features have been characterized by ultrasonic wave propagation measurements, such as wave velocity and attenuation. Real-time monitoring of ultrasonic wave propagation during the ...
متن کاملGaussian Process Quantile Regression using Expectation Propagation
Direct quantile regression involves estimating a given quantile of a response variable as a function of input variables. We present a new framework for direct quantile regression where a Gaussian process model is learned, minimising the expected tilted loss function. The integration required in learning is not analytically tractable so to speed up the learning we employ the Expectation Propagat...
